Welding filters

A welding filter, also known as a welding lens or welding filter lens, is a protective lens used in welding helmets or goggles to shield the welder's eyes from harmful radiation and intense light emitted during welding processes. The welding filter is typically made of a special darkened glass or a light-sensitive electronic filter. It helps to filter out ultraviolet (UV) rays, infrared (IR) radiation, and intense visible light produced by the welding arc. The darkness or shade level of the filter determines the amount of light that gets transmitted through it.The shade level required for the welding filter depends on the specific welding process and the intensity of the arc. Different welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding, may require different shade levels. Welding filters are available in various shades, typically ranging from shade 8 to shade 14, with higher shade numbers providing more protection from intense light. In addition to protection from harmful light, some welding filters also include features like anti-glare coatings or auto-darkening technology.
